5 Tips for Leading Through A Valley

(2 min read)

Walking through a valley is no fun, much less trying to lead through one. It's hard to see what is ahead, the path is uncertain and it seems like every step forward leads to a step back. Here are 5 tips that will help you as you continue to navigate through the valley of uncertainty.

Tip One: REMEMBER YOUR WHY

When the going gets tough, it's easy to forget why you started down this path in the first place. However, remembering your "why" can help refocus your energy and give you the strength to keep moving forward.

Tip Two: STAY CALM

This may be difficult, especially if the situation feels like it's spinning out of control, but it's important to take a step back and assess the situation before taking any action. PANIC WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE AND LEAD TO POOR DECISION MAKING.

Tip Three: REMEMBER IT'S TEMPORARY

It's important to remember that this season will pass. It might be a difficult one, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel and things are never as bad or as good as they seem in the moment.

Tip Four: BE OPEN TO CHANGE

The landscape of the valley is constantly changing and so too must you be willing to adapt as needed. This may mean changing your plan, altering your approach or even making some hard decisions.

Tip Five: ASK FOR HELP

This one is simple, but often difficult. Don't be afraid to ask others for help along the way. There are people who want to see you succeed. There is no shame in admitting that you are stuck or don't know something. I wish I would have learned this earlier. It would have saved me a great deal of pain and heartache.

Finally, we are here to walk alongside you as you lead through the unknown. We have numerous tools that can help you move from where you are to where you want to be. Contact us today for more information on how we can help.
